Now is the perfect time to start planning your Halloween party. As a matter of fact, I’m starting to plan my own party right now. I’ve found that early planning really pays off in a big way.
If this is your first time hosting a Halloween party this year, you may want to stick with me for some helpful advice on how to host an awesome party, and at the same time keeping your expenses in line with what you can afford.
I’m working on my own Halloween party plan, and have kicked it off by choosing a theme for my party. Themes are certainly not required to host a great party, but I’ve found that having a party theme stimulates my creativity, and breeds excitement. If you have a party every year, and invite the same group of friends, having a theme helps prevent your guests from becoming bored with the usual Halloween gathering.
When you’re brainstorming for a theme, let the Halloween in you come out to play. Let your imagination run wild, and try not to put limits on it. Even if you end up with a concept fit for Universal Studio’s, Halloween Horror Nights, you can always pare it down to something more managable, and affordable.
This year, I’ve chosen to build my party around a Haunted Hotel theme. I’ve conjoured up some initial ideas for decorating using webs, eerie lighting, creepy sounds, and music to which I’ll use as a base to plan from.
Now that I’ve come up with a theme that my inner monster can can sink its teeth into, I’ll sit down several times over the next couple of weeks, and create my party plan. When I’m finished, I will have something that I can use to help me make sure there will be no disappointments come party time. You’ll save time, and money too. Be prepared to allow time for planning. It may take a few weeks to complete, but in the long run you won’t regret it, and you’ll be very grateful that you took the time to create it.
I’ll be doing some planning myself over the next few weeks, and will be keeping you posted on my progress. In the meantime, I’ll be bringing you Halloween tidbits of information to get you feeling in the “spirit” of the holiday. Till then…Happy Haunts!
By the way, if you have a Halloween party theme that you’ve used before with success, I would love to hear about it! Please post it here, or if you’re shy, you can send me an email at lgibson@creepycloset.com.
